Welcome week: 'Fresher's fair' 2011...

Remember back during your own college/high school days..., where both clubs as well as societies would come together on a special day and promote...and persuade on how great their society or clubs are...only when you seem or looked interested...?? Well that was what was known as 'Freshers fair' event was mainly all about...As part of the a newbie event during our welcome week..., the 'freshers fair event were all about..., the recruitment of newer members..., the support from the people..., freebies of things that may or may not be useful..., outside sponsors...and of course my personal favorite..., getting cramped..., sardined and squished in a sea full of interested and not to mention curious students...(-____-''''')...

Nonetheless..., among the many different clubs and societies found joining in the fun for this event...includes the knitting club..., a rock music club..., a dance club..., an anime society club..., a photography club..., a christian union club and not to mention a Malaysian society club...just to name a few...Overall experience from all this...?? Well not bad..., cause back home in Malaysia (Or even the colleges to begin with...)..., we never had a big university event such as this which focuses only on clubs/societies...The only ones who did all the promotions were only the student councils/unions..., while the others remained in the dark or unknown to all its students...-nods head...-

The simple little things in my sanctuary...

The university accommodation located in Quorn road, just off Hadyn Road..., here in Nottingham City...comes with a set of keys to the room with an access card... for the front door of your own alphabetical block (for security reasons...) For my block G (ground floor) alone.., we have only two separate rooms...(me and another room mate)..., a big shared kitchen with available utilities, such as a fridge..., an electrical stove..., an electric water kettle..., a sink..., an oven..., rubbish bin..., a microwave and a small dining table...together with a shared bathroom with  a shower heater and a bathroom sink.

The rooms on the other hand..., are all furnished with simple basic necessities like a cupboard..., a small study table with bedroom drawers..., a sink and of course a bed...Overall.., i would rate it to be warm and cosy for a two people sharing unit/block and for a start..., at least much better than the ones nearer to the campus..., whereby the rooms are much more smaller with lack of floor space...Nonetheless..., the down side of it all...is having to walk out everyday (which is good..., i am not complaining...) to the bus stop..., in order to take the public bus...especially in the early hours of the morning..., with the cold wind blowing against your face...(Brrr...) The best experience from this so far...?? Being able to redecorate your room...in whatever style or design that suits you and your personality..., whenever possible...!! Awesome...!! -thumbs up...- Hahahahahaha...

Terminal 3, Heathrow Airport, UK...!! My arrival at last...!!

After what felt like hours and hours of seating as well as standing in a flying plane flown from Malaysia to UK.., a sigh of relief and was finally glad to be able to walk on my feet again... It was that official moment..., we had finally landed at Heathrow airport in the wee hours in the morning...!! Woohoo...!! But in order for me to meet up with the representatives from Nottingham Trent University..., I had to travel from Terminal 4 to Terminal 3 through a connecting transit line called 'Heathrow connect..' and from there...to make my way towards an area called 'meeting point'..., which is represented with arrows from North..., South..., East and West...all pointing towards a middle dot...Then from there.., I had to play the waiting game as it was too early till of arrival pick-up at 10..., So I waited..., waited...and waited...as the hours go by...Nonetheless..., the pick-up was still worth it..., as I still manage to get a little shut-eye along the way...However as strange as it seems i did not feel the jet lagged effects at all..., not even during another 3 hours long trip towards our final destination..., our own university or private owned accommodations...
